Return of the Jet Eye

After an extended vacation from blogging, I'm back.  Where to start... with music.  Music makes the world spin on its ear.  Currently, I'm a fan of Eminem and Taio Cruz.  More accurately, a few songs of theirs.  Of Eminem's selection, I like Not Afraid, the Airplanes remix, and Love The Way You Lie ft. Rihanna.  Not a huge fan of the last one, but Eminem's back in the game with heavy hitting lyrics and sweet beats to match.  Taio Cruz isn't as high on my list.  I kinda like Break Your Heart and Dynamite.  Dynamite's catchy.  I got part of the chorus stuck in my head the other day and had to listen to it.  The lyrics are okay, but not great.  Break Your Heart's really only on my list because it features Ludacris.  I'm a bit of a Ludacris fan.  Listen to songs like Get Back, Act A Fool, or One More Drink and you might see what I mean.  Oh, and I'm also liking Train right now.  Hey, Soul Sister is some brilliant writing on the part of the lyricist and the composer.  Just awesome.  If It's Love is another great one.  I'll confess, I wasn't a huge fan initially because the singer's cramming a lot of lyrics into the first line.  Once I really listened to the song, though, they had me hooked.  When Train first got big some years ago (gosh, are we really that old?), I wasn't really a fan.  But this new incarnation is really sweet.  Another example of some old guys rockin' away, keeping clean (lyrically, at least), and giving the fans some awesome music.

So now that I've covered music... on to Life.  Yes, capital "L".  It's the big game.  Life's going well right now.  Started student teaching a little while ago.  I really like my cooperating teachers.  They're awesome.  They're also pretty laid back, which likely explains why we get along so well.  Thus far, the students have been pretty good, too.  Most of them seem like good kids.  Otherwise... let's see.  Playing through Mass Effect a second time.  John: if you're reading this, you're right.  Awesome game.  Currently rereading Halo: First Strike.  And life with Malisa?  It's what it's always been: a whirlwind, exiting, flavorful, warm.  It's having your favorite cereal for dinner.  It's drinking hot chocolate/cider in front of a fire on a winter night.  It's a hug for the sake hugging.  What more is there to say?  Life is good.  L'chaim.
